Todd Monaghan, 2014, 9.5"/39.5"/.25", gesso, acrylic on masonite board.
Dancing Moon is one of only a few of the Night Sky - Outer Space series that could be said to be representational. It is a painting of the full moon dancing across the night sky. This piece is in some ways a way to take the marks (mostly spheres) that exist in the series but blown up to a larger size. The texture is achieved by using egg shells, something that occurs in the majority of pieces in this series.
