This painting initiated by Monaghan in 1994 early in his time in New York City and completed in 1997. It is a large collage of the Fireman statue at the end of 100th Street and Riverside Drive on the westside of Manhattan. Monaghan jumped from collaging to painting with this take of of the most iconic image in world master paintings.. The fireman collage became an Eastern Mona Lisa.
