Todd Monaghan, 2004, 44"/54"/1.5", oil, pastel, enamel, canvas, egg shells on cavas.
Mountains, painted in 2004, is a representational painting by Monaghan that harkens back to his spiritual surrealist past. The piece is textural by use of layered canvas at the center of the piece. There is an image of a boy at the base of the painting and an angel to the right. A broader larger face is also at the center of the piece. Egg shell and canvas layered on the piece give it added depth.
