Todd Monaghan, 2013, 24" x 24" x 1.5", gesso on canvas.
The gesso and acrylic painting Mad Eye Moody was created by Monaghan in 2013. The piece is relatively small compared to the rest of the collection of Black and Whites. This piece is a microcosm of some of the larger pieces in the series in that it is minimal and expansive. What is unique about this piece is its figurative nature. Monaghan named the piece after the character Mad Eye Moody from the Harry Potter series because of the strange character looking up on the left hand side of the piece.
