Love & Happiness was created by Monaghan in 2008 as a wedding gift for one of his collage friends. The piece looks at what it is to find love and happiness in today's world. The Monkeys represent "every man" and/or woman. There are also references to Jean Mitchel Basquiat as well as Frida Kahlo, his own mother as well as various other artist in the piece. Unfortunately the marriage was called off before the piece was even completed.
