Todd Monaghan, 2004, 56"/48"/1.5", oil, oil pastel, enamel, egg shells on canvas.
Classic Goizueta (aka "Spirit of Goizueta") is one of the first 3 pieces from this series created after Monaghan completed his "American Beauty 911" piece for Emory University. The series was originally intended for The Goizueta Business school of which Monaghan attended while at Emory University. At that time it known as Emory's Business school. The piece was created by Monaghan based on the iconic CEO's company portrait and deconstructs it to show his energy, his chi, his spirit, hence the alternative name, "Spirit of Goizueta".
