tm Back @ the Beach, part of Monaghan's Rehoboth Beach Residency collection, was created from a repurposed canvas, and is a self portrait based on Monaghan's iconic "Alienation of tm" image. Most of the canvas in this series have been acquired at local second hand stores in the beach town. This piece is a further exploration of space and time, the universe and the binds and intersections between all of us. A continuation of Monaghan's black and white series, this piece explores what Monaghan refers to as the seen and unseen universe. Orbs and particles are the planets and the cells and molecules that exist in the smallest and the largest parts of the universe.
