Todd Monaghan, 2021, 43"/91" unstretched, gesso, oil pastels and egg shells on canvas.
This piece, is one of three pieces initiated during Monaghan's time in the Conde Neste building making work for the ChaShaMa Gala, 2021. This piece is the second piece in the series initiated as a drip piece to the main CASM Portal piece highlighted at the gala.
The piece celebrates Anita Durst's contribution to Monaghan's art career, especially his time on Times Square working and showing with ChaShaMa. Anita, the founder of ChaShaMa is represented in this piece and in the triptych CASM Portal by the mannequin figure which plays prominently in both works.
